Live Fish Purchase Agreement
Koi & More LLC - Live Fish Terms and Conditions
By checking this box, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms regarding the purchase of live fish from Koi & More LLC:

Live Arrival Guarantee: Koi & More LLC guarantees that fish will arrive alive. Any DOA (Dead On Arrival) claims must be reported within 2 hours of delivery by calling 847-432-1350 or emailing info@koiandmorepondshop.com with clear photos of the deceased fish in the original sealed bag.

Shipping Schedule and Delivery:
- All imported live fish are dispatched via Next Day Air service Monday through Wednesday only.
- Orders received Wednesday through Sunday will ship the following Monday.
- Orders received Monday and Tuesday will ship Wednesday.
- Daily cutoff time for shipping orders is 10:00 AM Central Time.
- Shipping schedules may be adjusted around major holidays.
- Packages are sent without signature requirement to ensure timely delivery.

Delivery Attendance: I understand that I must be available to accept and properly handle the fish delivery upon arrival. Koi & More LLC cannot assume responsibility for fish mortality resulting from unattended deliveries or delayed handling.

Packaging Method: I understand that fish are carefully packaged in specialized shipping bags with pure oxygen, secured with rubber bands, and placed in sturdy corrugated boxes. When necessary, ice packs may be added to maintain appropriate temperatures during transit.

Quarantine Recommendation: I understand that all new fish, regardless of source, should be quarantined for a minimum of two weeks before introducing them to my main pond or aquarium to prevent potential disease transmission. I acknowledge that Koi & More LLC is not liable for any health issues, disease transmission, or mortality that may occur to my existing fish population.
- Proper quarantine requires a separate tank or container with independent filtration, away from my main pond.
- Maintain quarantine tanks at 68-75°F (20-24°C) for optimal health observation.
- Install an air pump with air stones in the quarantine tank to provide adequate aeration. Koi require high oxygen levels for proper health and recovery from shipping stress.
- Acclimation process during quarantine: • Float the sealed bag in the quarantine tank for 15-20 minutes to equalize temperature. • For temperature differences greater than 5°F/3°C, extend floating time to 30-45 minutes. • Do NOT add quarantine tank water to the shipping bag. • Do NOT add shipping water to your quarantine tank. • Gently transfer fish from the bag to the quarantine tank after temperature equalization. • Shield bags from direct sunlight during the floating process.
- Observe fish daily for any signs of disease or stress during the quarantine period.
- Test water parameters regularly and maintain appropriate levels.
- Consider salt treatments (0.1-0.3% solution) during quarantine to reduce stress and prevent common parasites.
- If treatments become necessary during quarantine, the two-week period should restart after treatment is complete.

Acclimation Process (if you choose to forgo the quarantine recommendation):
- Temperature Acclimation: I understand that koi are sensitive to sudden temperature changes. I will float the sealed bag in my pond for 15-20 minutes to equalize water temperature, shielding from direct sunlight if necessary. For larger temperature differences (more than 5°F/3°C), I will extend the floating time to 30-45 minutes. Proper temperature acclimation is critical, as rapid temperature changes can cause temperature shock, leading to stress, suppressed immune systems, and potential mortality.
- For severely stressed fish (gasping, unable to remain upright, lethargic): I will skip the extended floating process and introduce fish directly after a brief 5-10 minute temperature adjustment.
- I will NOT add pond water to the shipping water as this can cause harmful ammonia spikes.
- I will NOT add shipping water to my pond, as this water may contain ammonia and other contaminants.
- I will verify all fish are accounted for before releasing them into my pond.

Post-Arrival Behavior: I understand that newly arrived fish may exhibit temporary unusual behaviors including lying on the pond bottom, darting to the surface, or swimming rapidly with mouths above water. These are normal stress responses that should resolve as fish acclimate.

Feeding Schedule: I acknowledge that new fish may not eat for several days after arrival, which is normal behavior. I will adjust feeding based on water temperature once they begin eating.

Water Quality Requirements:
- I will remove toxic chemicals such as chlorine and chloramines using appropriate water conditioners.
- I will maintain appropriate temperature ranges for the species purchased.
- I will ensure adequate dissolved oxygen levels to prevent respiratory distress.
- I will monitor and maintain appropriate pH levels (ideally around 7.9).
- I will keep ammonia and nitrite levels as close to 0 ppm as possible.

Sizing Variations: I acknowledge that fish sizes listed are approximate. Natural variations in fish proportions mean actual sizes may vary slightly from the listed measurements.

Color and Pattern Variations: I understand that fish coloration and patterns may change over time due to maturity, water conditions, diet, and genetics. Photos are representative, and individual fish may vary.

No Returns: Due to the nature of live animals, all fish sales are final. Live fish cannot be returned or exchanged once they have been successfully delivered and acclimated.

Shipping Address Accuracy: I confirm that the shipping address provided is correct and complete. Koi & More LLC is not responsible for deliveries to incorrect addresses.

Order Modifications: I understand that once an order containing live fish has been processed, it cannot be modified or canceled.
